Healthy Eating

We understand the importance of healthy eating and a balanced diet in making sure our pupils are ready to learn. Children have the option of dinners at the school or bringing a packed lunch. Our lunches are provided by Midshire Signature Services  and cost £2.40 per day. Options include sandwiches, a choice of hot meals and desserts, including fruit. Menus work on a three week rolling programme. Special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request. Payment for school meals should be made weekly, in advance, using Parentpay.

Parents are asked to support our approach to healthy eating if their child brings a packed lunch, and to help us meet health and safety requirements by ensuring that children do not bring hot food or drink in glass flasks, and that drinks are sent in unbreakable containers.

For guidance on packed lunches and snacks, please see our:

Families receiving benefits may be entitled to free school meals and milk. For more details please visit the

Wraparound Care

Haworth Out of School Club (HOSC) guarantees before and after-school care for children attending the Haworth school, offering childcare for parents who need to drop their children off before the school opens, or collect them after the end of the school day. A breakfast and an evening meal is included in this offering. HOSC runs during term time only,  and in the school dining hall, in the main hall or outside.

Milk and Snacks

Children in Nursery and Reception receive free milk until their 5th birthday and, along with Key Stage 1, receive a free piece of fruit or vegetable each day. For children older than 5 years of age, milk can be ordered and paid for through www.schoolmilkuk.co.uk (please choose BAT Haworth Primary when selecting the school). Please note that children in Year 1 to Year 6 are invited to bring a healthy snack to eat at breaktime.
